Cast One
Cast Two
April 4, 2003
Thursday's cast was awesome and Friday's afternoon cast was equal to the task. Most cast and crew members are probably at home right now taking a nap or getting ready for tonight's final performance. So, it's probably pretty safe to say that there are going to be some pranks pulled on the cast during tonight's performance. You have been kind of warned. Last night, filling up the mailbox was quite effective, and Charlie Brown did a good job of not losing it on stage. Get ready tonight for a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ....... I cannot reveal it. Good Luck tonight. Oh, almost forgot! We have tear down tonight. All stage props must be taken back to the school. No rest for the.......... sounds like a broken record. Special programmes will be made for all cast and crew members -- sign each others' programmes and keep the memories. It has been a blast! Mac says every two years, so if you are in grade six, you're in luck!
March 30, 2003
The stage props were delivered to the Abbey Arts Centre this afternoon and put together this evening. On Monday, we will be having a technical rehearsal at the Abbey Arts Centre from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be at the AAC putting together the final touches. A lot goes on behind the scenes when putting together a musical. Those who have done it before know fully of what is required. Hang in there, Mr. Mac et al, it'll be worth it in the end when it all comes together.

Charlotte S. -- Snoopy
Happiness is... getting hyper with friends. Charlotte did her
first play way back when she was four. She was and angel in a
Nativity play. She has done many plays since then, but Charlie
Brown is her first musical. She's always been interested in drama
and acting, but hated singing... now she can't stop singing Charlie
Brown songs! She also doesn't enjoy howling, so extra applause
is expected, or she'll bite you.
Gerard O. -- Charlie Brown
Happiness is... jumping on my tramp in the rain, fighting my cat,
and JUNK FOOD! Waiting for Christmas, laughing with friends, and
playing pool. I always wanted to be an actor and I have had quite
a lot of experience. I was in my first play when I was in grade
two and I had a solo. I went on to star the lead in many more
plays in my church like Gideon, Sermon on the Mound, and Knights
Quest, but this is my first big musical. And now here is my biggest
happiness just for you. My dream day; on the couch with boxers
on and my dressing gown on over it, junk food surrounding me,
and nonstop movies playing.
Ally M. -- Lucy
Happiness is... being hyper and dedicating your life to sarcasm.
Ally has been in three plays with A.C.T. including Wind in the
Willows, Snow White, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Ally
hopes to have acting as part of her life for as long as possible.
When not working through her piles of homework, practicing her
violin and her trumpet, she enjoys wondering around her house
in sweatpants, shopping, and hanging out with her awesome friends.
She enjoys protests, working with the student council, and playing
rugby as well as ocean kayaking! Ally enjoyed yelling and bossing
others around in her role as Lucy and hopes you will too.
Ian N. -- Schroeder
Happiness is... hangin' with friends and relaxing on the couch.
All Ian needs is a good soccer game and he's happy. This is Ian's
first musical and he is very excited to be involved with "You're
a good man Charlie Brown". He has had fun working with fun
casts and directors at all the rehearsals and performances to
come. He is hoping to continue in musical theater at Yale next
year. Enjoy the show!
David S. -- Schroeder
Happiness is... always hangin' out with my friends and being with
family and my dog. Happiness is... playing an instrument, being
musical, and being hyper while we practice. David has played a
wide variety of characters such as baby coyotes to Santa to the
coolest character ever...... If you haven't already guessed, Schroeder.
He also is very happy to have such nice people in the cast and
crew. He is proud to be a part of this piece and has learned so
much about himself spending time with the play.
Kaitlyn B. and Allie L. -- Stage Managers
This is Kaitlyn and Allie's first musical production. They have
had a lot of fun doing all of Mr. McAvoy's odd jobs, helping cast
members with their lines, and being involved in the play. In what
little spare time they have, they both play on a competitive rep.
soccer team, play the trumpet in both jazz band and concert band,
and are involved in Student Leadership. Kaitlyn plays the piano
and is in her sixth year of competitive tap dancing. Somewhere
in between all of those activities, and much to their dismay,
they seem to be able to fit in homework, as well as visit with
friends and families. They are very happy to see how far this
play has come, thanks to a dedicated crew and cast. They hope
you enjoy Chief Dan George Middle School's first ever musical,
"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown".
Alyssa T. -- Choreographer
Happiness is...dancing your heart out and hanging out with friends.
Alyssa has been dancing for many years and has gotten to be extraordinarily
talented! She dances in Jazz, Ballet, Theater, Tap, Lyrical, Hip-Hop,
and of course to her favourite songs on the radio. She's also
a great soccer player and an even better friend. She has enjoyed
working with the cast and was very happy to share her dancing
talents with them. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Felicia G. -- Snoopy
To Felicia, happiness is hanging with good friends at the movies
or going camping every summer. Felicia (also known as fishy) always
wanted to act and when she heard about the chance to play Snoopy
she knew she had to give it a shot! Fishy enjoys writing poetry
during school hours. In fact, her published poem was written during
a very boring math class. For Fishy, the most important things
are friends, Kathleen, Moocow, Anna, Ally, Allie, Kaitlyn, Liam,
Dave, Alyssa, and Ian. Without their encouragement, she wouldn't
have been able to muster the courage to try out, never mind actually
perform in the play. This is Felicia's first play, so she is very
nervous, but with the help of her friends, she will be able to
pull it off. Felicia is thrilled to be playing Snoopy and hopes
you enjoy the show.
Robyn M. -- Lucy
Happiness for Robyn is...Oreo ice cream and joking around with
her friends. She has been in Mountain Elementary's production
of "Treasure Island"and also "Joseph". Robyn
has been in every Christmas church production since she was four.
This is one determined girl!. She loves basketball, playing the
piano, and composing her own songs. Robyn enjoys fooling around,
being with her friends, and laughing until it's hard to breathe.
Robyn also enjoys performing for an audience, but she mainly enjoys
her whole life.
Josiah K. -- Linus
Happiness is... doing a play without having a lot of stress. Josiah
always gets worse near the end of the play because he gets nervous
and forgets everything, except for watching that little boy in
the third row pick his nose. He has been in Abbotsford Children's
Theater for two years, and did a few school plays in his elementary
school. In this play, he really got into the role of Linus and
now sucking his thumb has become a bad habit while he watches
movies. Josiah has enjoyed doing this play and hopes you will
enjoy the show!
Erin H. -- Linus
Sucking your thumb without a blanket is like doing a play without
great directors and cast and crew. So, to Erin, happiness was
being involved in this play. Her stage debut was started by dance
performances and was continued by getting parts in "the best
Christmas pageant ever" and "Snow White". She wants
to thank Mr. McAvoy and Mrs. Farley for all the long hours of
work they have put into this production and supporting her in
this play. So, in the meantime, it's my blanket and me!
Pamela C. -- Sally
Happiness is... candy and junk food! and especially slush puppies
that turn your teeth blue! It's also being in a wonderful play.
Pamela has really liked being Sally in her first musical ever.
She really likes music and has the radio on 24/7. She really likes
to draw (which is probably why she doodles on everything), painting,
and writing short stories. She hopes to be in future school plays.
Pamela says it was kind of hard memorizing lines, go to all the
long rehearsals, and do all of her homework, but it was worth
it!!
Liam F. -- Charlie Brown
Happiness is... participating in drama activities such as this
production. Liam has been involved with a few other productions
such as school plays during his time at Clearbrook Elementary
and was involved with the Fraser Valley Fine Arts Centre. Liam
hopes to continue his acting career at Mouat Secondary School.
He is also very grateful that his friends are also a part of this
production.
Mme V. -- Head Stage Manager
While practicing, Mme Veldhoen is constantly reminding the cast
to sing louder and to move their hands more often. She is actually
very happy with how well the play has come together from the start
of the rehearsals. Thanks to her huge amount of "constructive
criticism", the whole cast has improved immensely over the
past few months. She hopes everyone enjoys the show.
